Our Goals are:
• To make skiing a life-long sport for the children
• To develop the skiing abilities of our young athletes
• To provide quality race training and racing experience
• To work towards joining NYSSRA and race at a more competitive level
• And most importantly TO SMILE & GIGGLE in the process!
We meet these goals by hiring a quality coaching staff; this year I am bringing back a Developmental Program. This means if a child has never skied we can get them up the chair lift and back down safely within the Holiday camp week! (Mother Nature Permitting)
At this younger level our program spends much more time free skiing and working on technique than on running gates. As the athlete's ability progresses, competition can then become a focus. We firmly believe that this philosophy produces better skiers, better racers and young people who develop a life-long love of the sport. A LOVE for the sport is a gift you can give your children by joining our club!

COACHING STAFF
I take this piece of our puzzle VERY Seriously, we only hire coaches who know How to make learning FUN!!!!
Our coaching objectives at Holiday Mountain are to provide a nurturing environment where serious and semi-serious athletes of all ages can develop and grow to their full potential as skiers and racers.
We will emphasize the learning and executing of the fundamentals of ski technique and athletic development. We use ski racing as a tool to develop mutual competitiveness and technical skills.
This is an individual sport, but working together as a team helps to raise everyone’s skill level. We teach respect for the Mountain and our fellow skiers & Boarders. Our Mantra is the Skiers Responsibility Code, which is posted everywhere you may ski!
All of our coaches have excellent backgrounds and strong desire to meet these objectives. We will work as a team to develop and nurture each individual’s talent and potential. We are all professionals and ask that you help us by encouraging your child and helping on race days when you can. If you have any concerns regarding your athlete, please address them to the Head Coach.
WINTER SCHEDULE OVERVIEW
Our Athletes begin the Season with a Winter Camp, which occurs during Holiday break from Schools. Dates TBD/Usually the last week in December. Every weekend following, we train on Saturday mornings, break for Lunch together and continue to practice on-snow what we learned that morning! Sunday is Race Day! We alternate Slalom one week, then Giant Slalom the next. Those in the Developmental Program will free ski with a Coach and watch the Races.
This year we will be hosting a Winter Carnival on January 12th. A R.V.W. Council race February 24th when young racers come from all over to compete. It’s a great motivator for our athletes.
We end our Season with an awards ceremony and Fun Day!
I look forward to meeting you and your Athlete(s). Feel free to contact me with any questions.
